How to encourage children to do photography.

  1. Buy them a camera: This is the first step to get kids involved, you don't have to go out and get the most expensive camera but a cheap one. It will make them feel like a owner.
  2. Appreciate the pictures: Not much to say about this but it's obvious that you need to make their pictures appreciated!
  3. Encourage them to use and carry the camera: Make sure whenever you go out, that they have it! You never know when just going to the grocery store you can find the perfect picture.
  4. Share their point of view: Children won't know exactly what they are doing, so make sure you use simple words and don't do nothing to hard for them.
  5. Work with still objects: Moving objects are much harder than something that can't move, just make sure they start off easy. A good example would be a flower.
  6. Play with colors: Dont just use black and white, kids are kids they love colors.
  7. Take them through the city: Going to a city or somewhere busy will be very easy to get for anyone, not just kids, to find a great picture.
  8. Print their best photos: Of course you want to appreciate their pictures, but it's best to show the best ones, the ones that stand out. When you do that they will want to get better and better.
  9. Encourage them to keep working: This is common sense but don’t take them out for a week, then just drop it. It will be hard on them because they have learned to do something that seems interesting to them. Make sure they keep up what they could possibly make money from.

Even though these are simple things to remember to do, its always best to have a list to help you remember what to do. Starting off little is always best when your doing anything, they will fall in love and they will want to keep doing it. Just remember the best thing to do is encourage them!

Types of Cameras

There are so many types of cameras.  You have Canon, pentax, and samsung. These cameras are the simple types, the ones that families would buy to take family pictures and stuff. Then you have the bigger cameras that are more for photography, like the canon powershot, the Sony Cyber-shot.
Then there is the High definition cameras, olympus, and the panasonic. According to KenRockWell.com, “Resolution and ISO are silly numbers used to try to sell you more expensive cameras.” They don't think you need to the most expensive camera, which is true. Don't go out and buy the biggest camera that looks fancy. You can always buy a simple one, it might not work just as perfect but it's a camera and itll work out. Cameras can vary in the way they are used.
You would be surprised how the ugliest camera could be the best one possible.  According to Michael Saba, cameras on phones arent the best ones to use but they will work, he says "These days, built-in cameras on cellphones and other portables can flirt with image qualities previously only seen in expensive, high-end devices. So, there are some important distinctions to keep in mind when shopping for your photo-taking tool of choice."

The beauty of objects

Holding a camera is more than just holding up a square object and pushing a button, but about how you want a picture of something you like or see is beautiful.

You can take anything, even if its something ugly, and make it look so beautiful. You can always aim the camera in different directions but adding color and effects to something can make a picture stand out better then a regular photo.

If you are using a black and white effect, you can always do something where you use shadows or the object in the picture moving. Take this picture for example, no colors but the shadow and the fog, makes it look like a story.

According to a famous photographer, Cartier feels that he doesn't need color or effects. He states that “For me the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity, the master of the instant which, in visual terms, questions and decides simultaneously.”

Most people use photoshop or something like that to make a picture look better. That is anyone's first option. That to me would be the best option to use. It is better to take a picture and use it as it is because its original, its not cropped, it doesn't have effects, or anything.

Cartier also states that taking a photo gives something a meaning. The best way he describes how to use your imagination is when he says, “It is putting one’s head, one’s eye, and one’s heart on the same axis.

Introduction

Photography can be so fun. It's not just about shooting models but you can shoot nature, people, or anything you want.

Photography is so beautiful. It doesn't really take any skill to be a photographer, just take a camera and shoot.

Most people don't like it because you have to have the “skill” or the “most expensive camera”. It just takes time and effort.

Photography is art, modeling or showing what the world looks like. I think the best photography there is, is ones of people and their family or prom time. Summer time is the best time I think to do pictures. I like looking at photography because I imagine being at the places that look so pretty.

Photography can make an ugly thing look pretty. You can use this anywhere, anytime. Photography can resemble love, hate, pretty, ugly, bad, good, everything. There are no limits on photography.

People don’t realize it but when you take a picture of anything, no matter what it is its photography. Taking a picture of your shoe, is photography. No matter who you are, you can do it, it’s simple and easy. Just pick up a camera got start shooting.
