Nikon or Canon?

People are always wondering what camera to use or which camera is better than the other. I’m going to compare and contrast the Nikon camera to the Canon camera.

Nikon Camera:This type of camera is said to have higher focus, and the focus does alot better. The Nikon cost less than the Canon. The company of Nikon not only provides better pictures but they do a lot of enviromental work.

Canon Camera: This type of camera has many features like an eye care system, broadcast lenses and many more. This camera has about 6 different kinds but most of them are good

Thats just a few things of information on these two cameras. It doesn't seem like alot but both cameras have good quality and good ways of taking pictures. It all depends on how much YOU like the camera everyone will always have a different view point. Heres a video talking about both of these cameras!

Interview!

I asked a young lady who attends Bessemer City High school some questions about photography. She is not a professional at it yet but I would say she is pretty close to being a pro!
Amber is a young lady who lives in Bessemer City. She spends her time with her boyfriend and enjoys taking pictures of themselves and other objects. Here are some questions I asked Amber.

When did you start doing photography?

Amber: I started doing photography about 7 months ago

What do you think is the most funniest thing about photography?

Amber The most funniest thing about photography would have to be the experience and challenges of what or who your taking a picture of.

What type of camera do you use?

Amber:   Im a beginner but I used to use a kodack but now I'm using a t3 cannon rebal

Do you think its better to take the picture or be in it?

Amber:   I think it's better to take the picture because you realize something you may have never realized before and it gives you more oppurtunities.

Do you think that photography is all talent or can it be learned?

Amber:  Photography can be learned , it wasn't a talent for me , I used to sit and watch my fiancĂ© take pictures until one day I decided to try it , and so far it's working out great!

Would you rather take pictures of people or objects like flowers?

Amber:  I love to take nature pictures ! It's my best doing but I'm learning how to take photos of people and right now flowers.

Who got you started with photography?

Amber:    My fiancĂ© cody lumsden, and Matt pope .

When/if you have kids are you going to encourage them to take pictures? why?

Amber:  I would love to teach my children to do photography , to show them life's beautiful and it's a way to express yourself in ways you can't describe in words.

Becoming a pro!

Photography sounds like a great job, which it can be, but you need the right ideas about it. I'm going to give you some steps on how to become a pro!

First, you will want to talk or interview a professional photographer. Doing this they can give you even better tips on how to strive for photography.

second, if you're in highschool and not already out of college, you will want to look into degrees that deal with photography, this way you can get help and also more tips!

third, this tip might be a little boring and out of date, but study books about photography. Yes I know what y'all are thinking “Why study books when we have the internet”. Books are still good to read simple because words get changed around after awhile. Books have the original ways.

fourth, after you are pretty sure you have what it takes, go out and practice. Dont do anything to hard, so simple things.

fifth, look at the pictures you take and see how good you do. If you like what you have done then go do it some more!

sixth, make a book of your pictures, don't put too many but dont put to less either. All it is, is a book of your pictures put together like a collage. When someone wants to see your work just get it out and show it to them.

Seventh, if you think you have had enough practice enter into contest! This can be great because if you win then your name can get out and people will know who you are.

eight, ask around places if they can show off some of your work. Sort of like an advertisement.

ninth, last but not least, make sure you copyright your work! This way NO ONE can take credit for the hard you have done! (:

How to encourage children to do photography.

  1. Buy them a camera: This is the first step to get kids involved, you don't have to go out and get the most expensive camera but a cheap one. It will make them feel like a owner.
  2. Appreciate the pictures: Not much to say about this but it's obvious that you need to make their pictures appreciated!
  3. Encourage them to use and carry the camera: Make sure whenever you go out, that they have it! You never know when just going to the grocery store you can find the perfect picture.
  4. Share their point of view: Children won't know exactly what they are doing, so make sure you use simple words and don't do nothing to hard for them.
  5. Work with still objects: Moving objects are much harder than something that can't move, just make sure they start off easy. A good example would be a flower.
  6. Play with colors: Dont just use black and white, kids are kids they love colors.
  7. Take them through the city: Going to a city or somewhere busy will be very easy to get for anyone, not just kids, to find a great picture.
  8. Print their best photos: Of course you want to appreciate their pictures, but it's best to show the best ones, the ones that stand out. When you do that they will want to get better and better.
  9. Encourage them to keep working: This is common sense but don’t take them out for a week, then just drop it. It will be hard on them because they have learned to do something that seems interesting to them. Make sure they keep up what they could possibly make money from.

Even though these are simple things to remember to do, its always best to have a list to help you remember what to do. Starting off little is always best when your doing anything, they will fall in love and they will want to keep doing it. Just remember the best thing to do is encourage them!
